REVIEW: The Body Shop Almond Hand & Nail Cream

Hai!

This time I will share my experience using The Body Shop Almond Hand & Nail Cream. I got this as a birthday present from my cousin, "Thankyou Tami!" and never thought i will need this at the first time.
I do love to polish my nails, I mean, with all the pretty colors of nail polishes out there, who wouldn't fall in love with and want to paint it on our nails? Right? After years i did that to my nails without balancing with nail treatment, my nails started to weak, and prone to breakage. So, I stop wearing any nail polish to "rest" my nails from any chemicals so hopefully it will get better and not breaking anymore. But, nothing's change, and i did nothing to it.
Until I had new problems with my finger, it getting dry, like super dry until it felt hot and burning when I ate sambal. That's when I remembered I have this hand cream, and started to use it every day.

About the Product

This is the cream from The Body Shop Almond hand care series, it comes in a 30ml metal tube. The website said:
This effective daily hand cream cares for nails as well as hands and contains two manicurist’s essentials: sweet almond oil and panthenol.

The claim on the product:
Moisturizes hands and conditions nails, with sweet almond oil and Community Fair Trade Brazil nut oil.

Apply small amount of this cream onto your hands and nails, everyday or anytime you need. Just don't apply it too much cause it can get greasy.

My Thoughts
I love the water-based texture of it, cause it's light, and quickly absorped. It still feel greasy thou if you put too much product or you forgot and wash your hands. But it feels moist and softer right after you applied it to your hand.
I hope you can see the photo above, I circled the troubled area, it still flaky now. But before I use this cream, my nails were 5 times worse! When i touch my nails, it felt really weak, looks flaky, and reaaally break-prone. I was afraid that I will never able to have a nice and pretty nails .-.
Oh, and it did good to my dry and burnin finger. it get better now.

My broken nail

Packaging: 3 of 5
Nothing special or annoying about the packaging. It's just fine.

Efficacy: 3,8 of 5
Um, this is a good product I think. Cause, it did what it claimed on the product, my hand and nails did got better because of this cream, in short time also. It is a plus point to this product.

Value: 5 of 5
I got this as a present and I didn't spend any penny to buy it, so I love this cream more! ha-ha. anyway, if you're planning to buy this, I think the price is in the middle range,(IDR 119.000) (If i'm not mistaken)  I mean not cheap and yet not that expensive, so~ I can say, if you have troubled nails or hands and you are looking for a product that works, you can out this in your list of options :)

Repurchase?
No, I hope so. Not because it's a bad product but because i'm too lazy to apply this everyday so I hope my nails and hands won't dry anymore so I don't have to spend money to repurchase this. he-he

Overall Rating: 3,9

No matter how flawless your skin are, you still have to take care of it!

I was posting to my facebook about my new blog, then my dear friend text me, and she said that she want to have consultation with me about her skin. duh~ perhaps she thinks I'm a dermatologist haha! Anyway, she said that she want to start taking care of her skin because her skin is dull now. She never used any mosturizer, and I shocked. Like "whaaaat?" She thinks that its okay not to use any treatment or moisturizer because her skin is normal, no acne nor any important problem.
So my dear friend, no matter how normal or flawless your skin are, you still have to take care of it!

At least do this basic routine:
1. Cleanse
So you just got home from work, college, or school, and you feel tired after a full day of activities. All you wanna do just sit back, relax, watch tv or read a book or maybe straight to bed. But ladies, I warn you, DON'T! You feel tired which means your skin feel tired too. After all the make up, pollution, and dirty air, your skin has the right to relax too! The make up and dirt will clog your pores which can lead to acne or dull skin. Its okay to relax for a while, but do not forget to cleanse your face before go to bed. Clean your skin 1-2 times a day, in the morning and before you go to bed.

2. Tone
This step, some people agree that it is important step on your daily routine, but some don't. But, I personally believe that tone your skin is good to enhance the cleansing, refresh your skin, or maybe hydrate it. It's depend on what toner that you used.

3. Moisturize
Whatever your skin type are, you always need to moisturize. Its like food to your skin. Choose moisturizer that suits your skin type, cause every skin type need different moisturizer. For you, oily skin people, do not think that you have oily skin than you don't need moisturizer. That is sooo wrong. Of course we still need food, we just need the lighter one. Choose water based moisturizer or any moisturizer intended for oily skin. Apply moisturizer on a clean face, in the morning and before sleep.

4. Exfoliate
We need to exfoliate all that dead skin, so our skin can renew it cells. Do it at least once a week. For you who has normal skin, you can use a regular facial scrub that contains sugar, coffee scrub, or etc. and for you who has oily or acne prone skin, you can use gel peeling, its smoother so won't harsh your sensitive skin.

That just the basic routine, if you have problemed skin like me, of course you need extra effort to have glowing beautiful skin.
